“We Are Bruce Lee”
exhibit
Creative Director June 2020 – April 2022
When the pandemic stopped the world, I lost a fantastic job, producing tech events. Uncertain of the future during isolation, I received a call from my friend and writer, Tom, asking, “Want to create a Bruce Lee exhibit with me?”
This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to examine the iconic Asian American’s cultural legacy was an instant yes. With Tom as Editorial Director, we both developed a narrative and exhibition design that highlighted Lee’s brilliance as an actor, athlete, philosopher, and entrepreneur. Additionally, the exhibit examined how Lee shared his worldly knowledge through his films and life, becoming an unofficial ambassador for multiculturalism and unity.
To visit the five-year exhibit, please visit WeAreBruceLee.org for more information. Also check out its blog, WeAreBLog, which includes articles from Tom and me. On the 50th anniversary of Bruce Lee's passing, CBS Sunday Morning aired a Bruce Lee segment featuring the exhibit.

Environmental Designer and Illustrator Feb 2019 – June 2019
Environmental Graphic Designer and Art Director June 2019 – March 2020
Designer April 2021 – May 2021
After moving to Seattle, I contracted with MIG-Portico Group (through Creative Circle) to design Southeast Asian-inspired fantasy environments for Kind Heaven, an immersive experience project by Jane's Addiction singer and Lollapalooza founder, Perry Ferrell. Sadly, the future venue for LINQ Casino Promenade in Las Vegas suffered frequent interruptions, which led to its cancellation.
Fortunately, I connected with Freeman, which produced events for a more predictable client, Microsoft. A 3-month contract (through 24 Seven Inc) transformed into a long-term opportunity as I became an integral member, who translated corporate brand language into visuals and human experiences. Unfortunately, the pandemic stopped the world.
A year later, as people braved the world again, I contracted with Opus Agency to produce event graphics and streamcast art direction for their tech clients until I returned to the news media world. With Protocol Media, I applied my freshly acquired environmental design knowledge towards branding their regional offices and live/virtual events.
